Just about everyone we hung out with called him, “Pete”, but since his name in class was announced Peter, I could never address him by any other name. There is no doubt that he became an amazing man, husband and father.

Every Christmas I was excited to see you because you would always play with me and I had a little girl crush on you. His thoughtful, understated demeanor belied a true joy in life and sense of fun. Pete taught me so much in my time working for him, and what he couldn't teach me, he empowered me with the tools to learn from other resources. I knew him somewhat, but the times that I did get to meet and talk with Peter Marshall, I had a lot of fun and enjoyment.

He loved to socialize, and he knew a lot of stuff about chemistry, which is something that I also liked about him, as me and him were able to have some really fun conversations.

Oh Peter, how much we miss you. One of those rare humans with raw enthusiasm and a brain full of deep, interesting thoughts. I watched Peter grow up from a very young boy into a wonderful man. An awesome passionate skier, who had an athletic grace and beauty that few could match; and a sense of humor that always bubbled through I am so sorry that I will not be able to attend the memorial service and express my condolences and respect for Pete to his family.Pete was a great guy, lived life to the fullest, always fun to share beer making tips, off-roading, travel adventures, etc. Pete is one-of-a-kind and gave so much of himself to his family and friends. I'd had a couple too many drinks and was talking incessantly while driving back. I thought “wow – he is a nice, good looking guy!” and was glad my friend Helga, Sara’s mom, would have a great son-in-law. You made amazing memories for your daughters, wife, family, and all your friends. He was a good friend and I’m so sad to hear this news. He has a home in In November 2013, Marshall was inducted into the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame. To our own family he was just one of us and will always be in our memories as a fun, clever and wonderful guy and one of the gang. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor to grow up with.

Beloved father to our granddaughters Jade and Amber. When I was shown his resume prior to his hiring I thought, Wow this guy is super qualified for this job. Smart, brilliant and great person to work with. I know from my partner, that Peter was a very dedicated and loving father.

We had frequent barbeques at his Off Campus Mines apartment. We were very sad we were not able to attend the service last week as we were out of town.
